Fall is the perfect time for an Estes park elopement and the best time to do an adventure session. M + M both are creatives and love the mountains. They wanted photos with mountain backdrops and just a location that they resonate with them. Colorado is known for its’ stunning and unique landscapes so there were many options. Estes Park is the location I recommended because it is within driving distance of Denver and it’s very close to Rocky Mountain National Park.
The day was a little foggy but the scenery was still stunning. Mountain weather can be very unpredictable but these two were down for their adventure photos. M + M explored the location and even shared some laughs as I photographed their candid moments. These two lovebirds were just the best people to photograph. From their personality, their outfits and just the vibe.
If you love fall mountain elopements in Colorado, then I would recommend Rocky Mountain National Park and the San Juan Mountains. Rocky Mountains has more crowds but the amazing trails for mountaintop elopements. Some of my favorite locations include, Sprague Lake, 3M Curve, and Dream Lake. The Rocky Mountains have a lot of options for accessible elopement spots. It’s closer to Denver as well so you have more access to transportation, restaurants, breweries, events etc Where as somewhere like the San Juans it’s more remote.
Despite it being more remote, the San Juans are still one of the top locations to elope in Colorado. The landscapes are unmatched! Each town in the San Juans has its own unique feel that stands out. Telluride, Ouray, SIlverton and Durango are just some of the main mountain towns in the area. If you want intimate mountain lakeside elopement then this spot is perfect.
