For the couples that are dreaming of an intimate elopement in nature without doing all the hiking.
Adventure elopements are not what we see on Instagram and social media. It does not have to be a day full of adrenaline heavy activities, you do not have to hike up to a mountain top or do anything too wild.
Adventure does not equal high intensity activities. Adventure is how you choose to experience your day. If you are a couple that wants nature without hiking or going to a spot with a ton of crowds, an airbnb elopement might be the perfect option for you.
Especially if you want the privacy but still be surrounded by greenery and stunning views, this is for you!

First, it adds to your elopement experience. You get to spend time away from the noise, you have plenty of privacy, surrounded by stunning greenery and you get to just have a slow relaxed day without needing to drive anywhere.
Your day can look like waking up together in a space that feels as warm as your home, making breakfast together, getting ready together or separate (whichever you choose) sharing your first look infront of your stunning Airbnb surrounded by the most epic views, exploring the spots outside before saying your vows.
Also each Airbnb has a unique character/design. As someone that went to design school, I can say the design of a space is an experience in itself. From entering a space, the lighting, the colors, texture and space layout make an impact. There’s also the unique features whether that’s an A-frame structure, a cool deck, a hot tub, a garden, etc which can be included in your photos.
Architectural Airbnb elopements are perfect for the couples that a want a cozy elopement day without having to travel too far for stunning nature/views.

This is one of the best architectural gems in Telluride. With the unique angular structure, warm tones and contemporary design elements, it’s the perfect spot for an Airbnb elopement in the San Juan Mountains. There’s so much natural light coming through the space with the floor-to-ceiling windows. You get gorgeous views of the mountains from different areas around the Airbnb.
Imagine starting your elopement day here: having coffee together on the front porch while enjoying the stunning mountain views, getting ready together and then getting to explore the scenery around the Airbnb before saying your vows at a secluded spot. Then you can have a small picnic at another spot, read letters from friends and family, you share a first dance and end the night with a candlelit dinner.
What makes it perfect for elopements: The San Juan Mountains are the best spot to elope in Colorado, and yes I am a little biased. Telluride also has a more “upscale” vibe compared to the rest of the towns in the San Juans so you will find the best stays in Telluride. There are also some trails you can add to your intimate Airbnb elopement like Bridal Veil Falls. This Airbnb is perfect for the couple that want the epic mountain views but want a cozy elopement day without any crowds.
Best Time to elope in the San Juan Mountains: Mid-July through September is when I would recommend a San Juan mountains elopement. July is when the wildflowers are fully blooming and everything is so lush and green and beautiful! Everything is accessible at that time, restaurants, trails, etc Fall is a little bit busier in the San Juans especially in Telluride!! I would recommend eloping early September to mid-September. Fall brings all of the leaf peepers which I don’t blame them but that also brings a ton of tourists and crowds in Telluride. Regardless of which month you elope, this place will not disappoint.
Best For: Couples all day elopements and the couples that want to experience the San Juan Mountains without any rushing. The couples that want to celebrate just the two of them and value an intentional elopement day and care more about the overall experience.

Hygge Hause is like the absolute dream spot for the couples that want to be surrounded by trees and love that foresty feel. The Pacific Northwest is what dreams are made of! This secluded cabin gives you access to the forest and a river nearby. You get a variety of spots to choose from for your ceremony. There’s even a cedar hotub to enjoy at the end of your elopement day.
What makes it perfect for elopements: Not only do you have a variety of location onsite, but you also can drive to epic spots like Mt.Baker to add to your adventure! You can cozy up together on the porch before starting your day, get ready together and walk down to the river to share your vows, you can explore the forest near the property and take cool portraits, then head back to the cabin to cut your cake, share a dance, and end your day relaxing in the hot tub.
You can also start your day at sunrise and head to Artist Point in Mt.Baker to explore the mountains and get amazing photos up there before coming back to the cabin to share your vows in private.
This stay is perfect for couples whether they want to only celebrate at their stay or they also want to add in more adventures and drive out to the mountains. A two day elopement is also perfect for couples eloping here because you could have a super private elopement day on the property then choose to explore the mountains the day before or after your elopement.
It’s also perfect for a late fall elopement because you don’t have to worry about snow and not having access to higher elevations.
Best Time To Elope in Hygge Haus Mt. Baker: I would say this spot is perfect year round but especially in the summer is the perfect time to elope here. You get cozy cabin with lush greenery in the summer and then get to enjoy fall colors after September. Winter elopements here would also be beautiful so it really just depends on the vibe you want. If you are wanting to add a Mt.Baker adventure, then late summer through fall would be the best time to elope.
Best For: Couples that want a full day or two day elopement. Couples that want to a slow and cozy start to their day and the couples that want to experience Mt.Baker as well.

Glen Oaks Big Sur is perfect for the couples that I want to elope in Big Sur but also want privacy. Glen Oaks has multiple properties you can choose from and you can have a ceremony onsite. There is also a river spot to say your vows or you can choose to say your vows in the redwoods.
What makes it perfect for elopements: So many options to go to multiple spots. You can start on the property and have private ceremony then drive down Highway 1 to iconic spots like Pfeiffer Beach. You get the best of both worlds, the green lush scenery and then the epic spots in the coast.
Best time to elope: I would recommend eloping here Spring through fall. I would recommend booking your accommodations 6+ months in advance for Glen Oaks.
Best for: 8+ hour elopement days when you want to experience multiple landscapes. Spring and fall offer the best weather and fewer crowds. This is ideal for couples who want both forest intimacy and dramatic ocean vistas – and who don’t mind a bit of driving between locations to get that variety.
When you choose locations like these, you’re not just picking a place to stay – you’re choosing a full experience. Here’s what I recommend:
Book early. A few of these locations like Glen Oaks are in high-demand so I recommend to book your stay 6+ months in Advance. Aim for 6-12 months out, especially for peak seasons.
Consider your timeline. If you want add more nearby epic spots to your adventure, I would recommend atleast 8 hours of coverage. Then you have more time between locations without feeling rushed – and more time to actually be present and enjoy your experience.
As a former interior designer, I’m drawn to spaces that infuse nature with architecture. I’m actually a huge architecture nerd but also love being outdoors so I love I get to enjoy both of the things I love. What I love most is photographing slow, intentional and cozy elopements. That’s what makes these Airbnb elopements so special to me. I get to photograph not just a beautiful space but also the human connection.
If you’re drawn to the idea of an elopement that combines stunning architecture with epic nature landscapes – and the kind of unhurried day where you actually get to enjoy both – I’d love to help you plan yours. I specialize in the San Juan Mountains and California elopements but also travel out to different destinations as well.
