Where To Elope In Buffalo
When choosing your elopement location, things to thing about are the meaning of the location, the type of scenery you both like and the season you want to elope. In Buffalo, you have lakes, waterfalls and local parks. Some of my favorite locations include Hunter’s Creek, 18 mile, Letchworth State Park, and Spruce Lake.
Letchworth State Park: This spot is very popular and I recommend eloping here in the fall. This way, you can avoid crowds as much as possible and still get experience the amazing fall foliage. There are a few view points to say your vows and experience epic waterfalls. Letchworth is one of my favorite places in the WNY area especially in the fall.
Spruce Lake/ Ellicottville: New York as a whole has so many beautiful lakes and this is one of the best in the area. It’s near Holiday Valley which has the ski resorts and a lot of activities for winter and summer. Ellicottville is a place you can elope year round (winter storms considering). Overall, I would say this is one of the best elopement locations in Western New York.
Hunter’s Creek: This spot is perfect if you want to do a little bit of hiking. There’s a small lake, more lake a spring but it’s such a stunning location.
18 Mile Creek: This location has similar scenery to Hunter’s Creek (in my opinion) but it’s also one of my favorite locations for elopements mostly in the summer and fall seasons.
Griffith Sculpture Park
Knox Farm
Delware Park: This is a personal favorite spot. It can be crowded but it’s a good spot if you want to do multiple activities without going to multiple locations. There’s Hoyt Lake, the Japanese garden and the History Museum for photos. And for activities the Buffalo AKG ( Albright Knox) art museum is right across from the park. Then, there’s the Terrace restaurant to grab food.
Niawanda Park: This spot has gorgeous views and in the summer you can grab ice cream from Old Man River’s. The trails are super easy and it’s really just a spot for picnics or just relax.
Holley Falls: If you love waterfalls and want the waterfall backdrop without having to drive 3+ hours, this spot is for you! It’s a small waterfall and not as crowded as popular waterfall spots in Buttermilk Falls. This location is about an hour away from Buffalo and worth the drive.
