Telluride has some of the best alpine lakes. If you want to plan activities near an alpine lake then Telluride would be the perfect location. Some of the best locations to elope in Telluride include, Altas Lakes, Trout Lake, Silver Lake and Woods Lake.
Altas Lakes Elopement
Altas lakes is a personal favorite. The lake views are stunning and you also can rent a place to stay at the Altas Lakes Observatory that is near the lake. The best time to elope at Altas Lakes is in the summer and fall. If you want the lush green scenery then sumer would be best and if you love fall colors then fall would be the better option. This spot has a lot of meadow areas with mountain backdrops that would be great for photos. Then there’s the lake, and it’s a perfect spot to have a ceremony.
A lot of locations in Telluride and Ouray require a 4×4 so I recommend renting or hiring a guide.
Trout Lake Elopement
Trout Lake is another stunning spot in Telluride. It’s a favorite spot for fall elopements. There are also backroading spots to get a private setting and unique landscapes as well.

This spot is perfect if you want mountain peaks and meadows. It’s doesn’t require a lot of hiking but the views are unforgettable! This spot is perfect for either summer or fall weddings.

Bridal Veil Falls is definitely one of the more iconic spots in Telluride. It has a different feel, almost like PNW vibes. This spot is perfect for couples that love waterfalls and woodsy locations. I would recommend eloping here in the summer.
